General Description
Following principle of high efficiency, energy saving, environmental protection, BSIET, has more than thirty years in developing history of coking field and devoted itself to the development, research and application of large, energy-saving and environmental friendly coking engineering technology, it can provide the clients with design, consultation and project general contract services for coal preparation, coking, gas cleaning, refining of chemical products as well as pressure vessel and pipeline of the coking plant. The Company has a prominent performance references and technical power concerning 4.3m and 6m top charging coke ovens, 4.3m, 5.5m and 6m stamp charging coke ovens, CDQ, gas purification, tar treatment and crude benzene refining.

Advantageous Technology-Coking Technology
(1) Proven and Reliable Large-volume Stamping Coking Technology
Continuous thin layer automatic feeding, multi-hammer fixed point continuous stamping technology, Increased bulk density and stability of coal cake, ensure normal operation of the coke oven, realize 13:1 ratio of height/width, coal charging for single chamber (dry) 42.7t.
(2) Automatic Control of Coke Oven through PLC System
○ Smart adaptive heating system of coke ovens
The system is featured with high reliability, easy operation and maintenance, and is able to tremendously improve the coking operation, beneficial to increase and stabilize the coke quality, reduce energy consumption and prolong the coke oven service life.
○ Coke oven infrared temperature measuring management system
It can easily input, record, search, calculate and print the temperature at straight line, lateral row, oven head, chamber top, coke button centre and other temperature measuring data.
○ Gas collection pipe pressure intelligent regulating system
This proposal adopts expert-rule based decoupling strategy that is based on the working condition correct appropriately the control function of each single loop regulator, coordinate the operation to reduce finally the coupling influence and stabilize the pressure. Single loop regulator is realized by using the fuzzy control. In addition, decoupling within the group, decoupling among groups and serial decoupling algorithm will be realized on controller or by programming on operator station.
○ Oven no. identifying system
It is required that coke oven machine positioning interlocking automation system can realize three machines interlocking and four machines coordinated operation by precision measurement of travelling position of pusher, coke guiding car and quenching car, oven no. identification and reliable data communication among them, so as to realize safe operation and computer management of four machines.
(3) Top charge coke oven coal charging dedusting system uses dry dedusting unit with ground station, combined with controllable and sealed screw feeder for coal charging car, it can realize smoke-less charging.
(4) Dedusting system for coke pushing uses coke side dedusting facilities of coke guide car with dust hood + belt lifting trolley + fixed dust collecting main + ground station;
(5) Waste heat recovery technology of coke oven flue fume, sensible heat in coke oven offgas is recovered to heat soft water into steam.
(6) A combined fume elimination system for stamp charging coke oven that integrates a high pressure ammonia water spray with fume guiding in coke ovens and fume exhausting outside coke ovens is to be adopted for dust removal for coal charging.
(7) Suspension air-cooling type spring door is used for stamp charging coke oven for strengthening of door sealing effect to avoid overflow of fume and dust or suction of air due to pressure change in coking chamber. It was successfully applied in Bhushan Coking Plant, India and Jindal Coking Plant, India.
(8) Patent technology of dual purpose protection hood for coal charging car of stamping coke oven is used to improve operation environment, reduce coking energy consumption. It was successfully applied in Bhushan Coking Plant, India and Jindal Coking Plant, India.
Coal Preparation and Coke Screening
1. Coal Preparation Technology
- Depending on different coal source, BSIET will use blending before crushing process or blending before crushing with pre-crushing unit process to satisfy the coking requirement;
- The blending technology with integration of storage and blending shall effectively suppress the dusting in coal yard and reduce occupied land area.
- Computer is used to precisely control the blending, precisely regulate the blending ratio of charged coal according to actual production requirement to increase coking coal quality.
- Coke oven flue coal moisture control (CMC) technology is promoted together with Nippon Steel.
Coal Moisture Control (CMC) Technology
Principle: Moisture of coking coal in controlled at ~6.5% for coke oven coal charging to complete coking process. Features:
It can increase bulk density of charged coal.
Reduce coking time of coke oven
Increase blending ratio of weak caking coal and reduce coking cost.
The heat consumption for coking, energy consumption for ammonia distilling and coking waste water treatment throughput can be reduced,
The residual heat of coking waste gas can be fully re-utilized and green house gas emission can be reduced.
Technique for Treatment of Waste Plastics by way of Coking Process
Principle: one part of the blended coal for coking process is regarded as material of waste plastic type coal production line, and waste plastic and coking coal are mixed, melted, and formed at a certain proportion. Another part of the blended coal after humidification is regarded as material of the tar type coal production line, and it is mixed and formed uniformly at a certain proportion. Waste plastic type coal and tar slag type coal are mixed with coal separately in accordance with proportion, and conveyed to the coke oven for coking process. Highlights:
Realization of innocent treatment and recycling utilization of waste plastics
Prolongation of coking coal resource, improvement of coke quality and reduction of coking cost
Reduction of coking waste water discharge and treatment of organic solid waste from coking process
2. Coke Screening Technology
- Big chute is adopted to transfer coke, avoiding dust from transportation process, and reduce energy consumption.
Double layer vibration screen, could screen three kinds of coke for one time, which increase screening efficiency, and reduce land occupation area and project investment.
Gas Purifying Technology
A high-efficient horizontal tube cooling process is used for primary cooling of gas and waste heat is recovered for heating in winter;
A high-efficient honeycomb electrical tar trap process is used for removal of tar mist in the gas;
Tar and ammonia separation system adopts separation process of vertical tar ammonia separation tank and super centrifugal machine for dewatering and slag removal.
Negative pressure desulphurization and new NNF desulphurization process are adopted for gas desulphurization.
Application of salt extraction process from waste solution of desulphurization
A spray type saturator process is adopted for deaminization of gas to produce ammonia sulphate.
De-benzol process adopts tar wash oil and benzene washing process. After benzene washing process, rich oil debenzol adopts pipe still heating process and a single tower negative pressure debenzolizing process with naphthalene oil side line are used;
Ammonia distillation process with flue fume
Ammonia distillation tower, debenzol tower adopt new type high efficient vertical sieve-plate tower.
CDQ Technology
Generation 3 of CDQ technology cooperated and promoted by BSIET and Nippon Steel Corporation.
CDQ Technology Features
Charging device with charging bell;
Application of rotary coke tank or retangular coke tank for hot coke transporting equipment;
Feed water preheater added on the pipe at CDQ chamber input;
Application of the continuous coke discharging device for cold coke (vibration feeder + rotary sealing valve);
Application of natural circulating waste heat boiler;
Secondary dust catcher (multicyclone dust catcher)
Benefits of CDQ Process
Almost 0.59t high pressure or medium pressure overheating steam is produced from each ton of hot coke, which could be used for power generation or power source of metallurgical plant.
Coke quality is greatly improved with heat reactivity and strength after reaction obviously improved. It could reduce BF coke ratio at furnace entry by 2%, and increase yield of pig iron by 1%.
It could completely solve the problem that dust and phenol-cyanogen produced from wet type coke quenching is poisonous and difficult to be collected.
Compared with wet type coke quenching, 0.5t of water could be saved per ton of coke.
No need for external heating source for CDQ, indirectly, means coal or fuel for same amount of steam is reduced.
General contract project for 2x65-chamber and 6m high stamp-charging coke oven of Bowei Xinyu Chemical Industry Co. Ltd.
Content of construction: Raw material system, coal preparation system, coking system, CDQ system, gas purification system and so on with production capacity 1.40MTPA
Technical characteristics:
Average width of coking chamber is 500mm which gives full play to maximum product capacity of the two coke ovens.
Coal preparation system adopts pre-crushing - coal blending - crushing process.
And one set of 170t/h CDQ is built to recover energy from the red coke during coke quenching process. High temperature and high steam produced from CDQ is fully used for power generation.
There is dust catcher facility provided at the job post where dust is produced, and the treated fume is exhausted after attainment o the standard.
Gas cleaning workshop consists of condense-blasting section, ammonium sulfate section (including ammonia distill), crude benzol section and oil depot. Debenzolization system of the crude benzol section adopts negative pressure debenzolization process.
Qianan Sinochem Coal Chemical Industry Co. Three batteries of 2×55-chamber 6m Top Charging Coke Oven
Construction content: raw material system, coal preparation system, coking system, CDQ system, gas cleaning system, phenol-cyanogen sewage treatment system,and its matched production utilities. The project is divided into 3 phases, with total production capacity of 3.30MPTA.
Technical characteristics:
The firstly coal proportioning and then crushing process is used while space is reserved for coal humidifying, addition of coal briquette and plastic wastes
Wet oxidation process is adopted to remove H2S from gas, with ammonia in gas as alkali source, and molten sulphur is produced. The process is easy with high desulphurizing efficiency
Application of separation process of vertical tar ammonia separation tank and super centrifugal machine for dewatering and slag removal
Application of salt extraction technology from waste solution of desulphurization
New belt conveyor from phase 1 & 2 to phase 3 screening building is built to solve the problem of coke output routine of phase 1 & 2

2×55-chamber 6m Top Charging Coke Oven Project of Jingdezhen Coking Plant
Content of construction: raw material system, coal preparation system, coking system, CDQ system, gas purification system and so on with production capacity 1.10MTPA
General Contract Project of 260t/h×2 CDQ for Shougang Jingtang Iron and Steel Co.
Construction content includes: CDQ proper, CDQ boiler, room dedusting, power plant and circulating water system, etc.matched with 2×70-chamber 7.63m coke oven.
Technical characteristics:
- The two sets CDQ units are mainly located on the intermediate platform of the B and C coke oven together with the step 1 and 2 power generation system and dedusting system, so that investment and land occupation is reduced and less production manning is required.
- Lifter is adopted to lift hot coke tank directly from quenching car rails, which could reduce transportation duration, simplify production procedures, and reduce the investment.
- Each unit is provided with forced circulating high temperature and high pressure waste heat boiler to recover the waste heat to generate 9.5 MPa, 540℃ high-temperature high-pressure steam for power generation. And about 15% and 8% more power could be recovered in comparison with the way of 3.82MPa medium pressure and 5.4MPa high pressure power recovering system.
Indian Bhushan 850,000t/a Coking Project
2×64-chamber SG4350F type compound heating stamp charging coke oven
Dust catcher facility is provided for coal charging and coke pushing process.
Low moisture wet coke quenching system is provided with provision of CDQ facility.
A coal preparation system, a gas purifying system, utility and auxiliary facilities and the like will be completely built up.
It has been awarded as the sample project of Indian iron and steel industry.
Indian Jindal 850,000t/a Coking Project
2×64-chamber SGD43 type single heating stamp charging coke oven is selected to accommodate Indian local coal source situation.
Wet coke quenching process is applied.
Ground level dust catcher is applied for coal charging and coke pushing process.
A coal preparation system, a gas purifying system, utility and auxiliary facilities and the like will be completely built up.
